Yesterday and Today Sarah and I worked out the last of the China-essential marketing planning. We had two meetings with the boot manufacturer, SY, a like-minded business partner managing the fabrication of the boots in enkay. They are also managing the donation program in enkay and have built a series of relationships with people to ensure donated boots actually reach those they’re meant to serve.
Yesterday, we went over the Yanji market research Sarah and I did on Monday with them, which confirmed the research they had done and gave us a good launch point for further research. Today, we went over new styles and sizes of boots for the American market. We’re looking at adding a camouflage boot and brightly colored updated style boots for the pre-teen market; quality insulated work boots for the adult market. So, if you need to buy boots wait another two months! They should be available in September.
Yesterday, I had a phone call with some of the company leaders back in the States about a kickoff event. One idea for our kick-off is a dinner event, another is a tent party, a third is a series of roving parties with family-oriented organizations in Colorado Springs, and a fourth is a backyard bbq. We want to build publicity for this, so we may be doing radio spots or flyers or email campaigns, so watch out. And plan to attend! Guaranteed fun. Bobbing for apples, anyone?
We’re having a little trouble getting the boots through customs. It seems an application which was filed seven months ago was lost somehow and so the boots are being held in port in California until a new application can be processed. Pr for Gd’s power to be seen through this. Another minor setback but another opportunity for Gd to show his power.
